Mobile Home Hurricane Safety.

hurrican Michael photoFlorida has the most stringent building codes for the installation of mobile homes.
Mobile Homes coming into this state must be Wind Zone II or Wind Zone III depending on the area that you live in.

Not only are the homes in this State built to a higher standard, they are installed to one as well. This has helped to save many lives.

Each time disaster strikes; the sites hit are investigated thoroughly in an attempt to learn more about what can be done to keep people safer and the homes in place. Some of the older homes have been retro-fitted to meet the new State Standards (15-C) and this has saved many people and their homes as well.

Today, mobile homes are weathering the storms much better. However, you should always heed your local evacuation orders when a storm is approaching. Remember that it’s not always the wind, but it’s what’s in the wind and it’s the water.

We welcome your pictures and stories of how your mobile home weathered our most recent Hurricane Michael. Please send anything you would like to share with us to: askzoeynow@gmail.com.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who were in the path of the Hurricane Michael.
